Men's clothing, made for every body.

Have you ever looked at the nearly limitless options that women have for clothing and then looked at what is usually offered to men and thought "what is happening here?"  Well, I have always wondered that. 

It feels like men have been raised to be afraid of their bodies and our choice in clothing reflects that. We've all been there, shirts that are baggy and loose, shorts that are so boxy they are comical and everything just says "cover up your body". And that's a shame, because every body is wonderful and deserves to be seen and celebrated. 

And that's really why I created Bear Threads, I wanted to attempt to create clothing that fit a variety of bodies and made men feel good. 

We're starting small, with swimsuits, shorts and tanks and will expand over time. But we'll also be evolving our cuts over time so that, regardless of size, our clothes will feel tailored, like they were made for you.

Did you know that garments are designed with size Medium in mind and then all the other sizes are scaled up or down based on that original medium design? It's called "Grading" and it results in some wonky fits as you size up, especially to XL and 2XL. Let's say you're a man that has a bigger belly, but has average size legs, when you buy those shorts in XL, your leg openings will be huge on your legs. Speaking from experience here. Very few brands actually work to adjust their grading over time to ensure a great fit. But that's what we'll be doing. With each run of garments we'll be looking at fit on a variety of body types and adjusting our grades to achieve flatting fits on a wide variety of guys.
